Description
A traditional Japanese-inspired wellness drink made with matcha, kombu, ginger, and umeboshi—great for boosting energy, metabolism, and digestion.
Ingredients
1 cup hot water (not boiling)
1/2 tsp matcha powder
1/4 tsp freshly grated ginger
1 small strip kombu (about 2 inches), soaked
1/4 tsp umeboshi paste or 1 pitted umeboshi plum, mashed
Optional: squeeze of lemon or honey to taste
Instructions
1. Heat water until just below boiling (about 175°F).
2. Whisk matcha powder in a small bowl with a splash of hot water to form a smooth paste.
3. Add grated ginger, mashed umeboshi, and soaked kombu to a mug.
4. Pour hot water over the ingredients and stir gently.
5. Let steep for 2–3 minutes, then remove kombu if desired.
6. Taste and adjust with lemon or honey. Sip warm.
Notes
Avoid boiling water to preserve matcha and kombu nutrients.
Use high-quality umeboshi and organic matcha for best results.
Great as a morning energizer or post-meal digestive drink.
